Our commitment to providing a rich and well-rounded student life for our students is evident by the clubs, sports, and activities we offer as a complement to our academic program.

Clubs & Activities are as vital as academic preparation to leading a fulfilling life. They promote physical and mental health, fostering social engagement and the development of leadership skills. At BASIS Independent McLean, we rely on students to both participate and to guide the offerings: first by inviting them to share their interests, and later by encouraging students to develop programs where they see a need.

Facts About the Clubs & Activities Offerings at BASIS Independent McLean:

  • We offered over 50 extracurricular clubs, sports, and activities in our founding year alone.
  • Nearly 80% of our student body participated in an auxiliary program.
  • More than 50% participated in at least two.
We are excited about all that was accomplished by students in our founding year, including big sports wins such as the girls' basketball team winning their championship game, our team taking first in MathCounts in State, placing first in Certamen (Latin competition), our inaugural theatrical productions, Multicultural Celebration, Field Day, Spirit Week, Halloween Bash, and much more.

Our list of activities offered is as dynamic and changing as the growing, diverse student body at our school. The below list of Clubs & Activities is for reference only, actual activities offered are subject to change:
