Mr. Sample

Subject Expert Teacher

Mr. Sample received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science from West Virginia University. He received his Master of Science degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University in 2014.

In 2015, Mr. Sample worked as a Detention Specialist at Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center, where he ran a recreation program for at-risk youth. From 2010-2015, Mr. Sample worked for Fairfax County Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant at an alternative education program. Additional experience includes: coaching scholastic athletes, summer recreation supervisor, and former Arena Football League player.

Mr. Sample says, “I look forward to applying exciting and innovative ways to teach physical education. My ultimate goal is to inspire students to be the best version of themselves from a health and wellness standpoint.” Mr. Sample chose to work at BASIS Independent McLean because it offers him the opportunity to be creative in his teaching style – this is key to finding what best fits the needs of all learners.

Mr. Sample is an avid sports enthusiast and cross-fitter. He plays in recreational sport leagues and likes being outdoors.
