Ms. Tozzi is a native of Taiwan, where in 1992, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Literature from National Taiwan University, Taiwan’s premier university. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Education from New York University in 1996, specializing in K-6 elementary education and teaching English to speakers of other languages.
No stranger to the BASIS.ed network, Ms. Tozzi joins BASIS Independent McLean from BASIS Scottsdale, one of the top-ranked high schools in the country, where she taught Mandarin to students in grades 9-12.
Ms. Tozzi believes that language is the key that unlocks a culture, and is passionate about sharing the richness of Chinese language and culture with her students. One of the highlights of the year, which she and the students look forward to, is celebrating Chinese New Year – from sharing the traditional Lion Dance to eating Chinese dumplings, a special treat that also tastes great any time of the year!
