Subject Expert Teacher

Ms. Miller is very excited to join BASIS Independent McLean as a Subject Expert Teacher in English. She graduated from Wheaton College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and minors in Media Studies and Business. After spending a few years in marketing jobs, Ms. Miller returned to Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City, in order to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Last year, Ms. Miller worked at BASIS Peoria where she taught grade 9 Honors English Language and AP English Language and Composition. Prior to coming to the BASIS Curriculum Schools, Ms. Miller student taught at Brooklyn Technical High School and Salk School of Science in New York City. 

"I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to teach at BASIS Independent McLean, and I am excited to provide my students with the gifts of reading and writing—two things they can take with them anywhere they go," says Ms. Miller. 

When Ms. Miller isn't reading books or writing prose, you can find her traveling to Peru or Paris, or perhaps eating a warm croissant and drinking a strong cup of coffee on a rainy day.
