Ms. Pathapadu graduated from the Osmania University of India, earning her Bachelor of Science, with minors in botany, zoology, and chemistry. She earned her Bachelor of Education, with specialization in methods of teaching biology. She earned Master of Science in zoology and was awarded as the best outgoing student. She earned her Master of Education with specialization in methods of evaluation, curriculum development, and educational technology.
Ms. Pathapadu is a Subject Expert Teacher of AP and Honors Biology. Prior to joining BASIS Independent McLean, Ms. Pathapadu was Assistant Professor of Biology at Northern Virginia Community College. She shared her knowledge with colleagues by giving presentations at professional conferences in the community college. She was a consulting professor for biology in Saylor.org and developed fully loaded courses. She worked as a teacher educator in India and trained biology teacher trainees before moving to the United States. She has 15 years of teaching experience in high school and collegiate levels. She has several certifications in online teaching, hybrid teaching, project management and is proficient in using open educational resources to create an interactive learning environment. She also completed Quality Matters certification which provides mastery over teaching competencies for online courses.
The unique curriculum of the BASIS Independent schools attracted her to join the team and inspire students with her passion towards teaching biology and expertise. She sets smaller goals for students that lead to a larger achievement. She uses latest technologies to create an interactive and fun learning environment.
