Week 2: Working from Home

Mar 23, 2020

Hello Again! This week was a little hectic, as there had to be a lot of quick adaptations to be able to work on my project from home. The past week, I did what I could from home, which primarily consisted of parsing through the JSON files mentioned last week, and understanding and visualizing any changes I would make to it. This time however, I downloaded a local version of Mirador and hosted it on a local server so that I could actually see in real time what I was changing by moving around various parts and seeing the effects on the visualization. After I achieved an understanding of the main manifest structure, I started working on converting it to glass flutes, instead of the example images. In the near future, I will be contacting my mentor about the user interface side, and what users will see, as well as working on a similar process of understanding for the annotations I will eventually be implementing.

Very cool! Have fun learning about and playing with JSON and Mirador. If I am stuck with JSON, I know who to ask!
