Week 5: What’s New?

Apr 10, 2020

As the title asks, what is new? For me at least, the days seem to run together.

This week was productive though. There were team conference calls Monday and Wednesday, and a company-wide call on Thursday. However, not much as changed as far as my own workload. I mentioned previously that I did a chart for state legislation and this week I converted it to an excel sheet. Honestly, it was pretty difficult, as I do not use excel much. I figured out what to do though (after a few google searches) and I am proud of my work! I’m glad I learned a new skill this week and I can’t wait to apply it to my senior project research.

I agree with you about days running together. It is so interesting how our conceptions of time have changed during the shutdown. Without our routines to measure our days, our sense of time is different. No more 50-minute blocks of time to mark first period from second, and so on.

One of the most valuable professional skills you can possess is knowledge of Excel! Take it from an English teacher who has struggled to learn Excel for many years. This knowledge will serve you well. Good work!
