Welcome back to my senior project blog!

I started the week by classifying the motor patterns of the Shank3 zebrafish. Mutations on the autism-linked Shank3 gene lead to distinct social and movement patterns. By determining the differences between normal zebrafish and those with the Shank3 mutation, more can be understood regarding the function of this gene.

After running the motor pattern classification on the Shank3 zebrafish videos, I created the Markov Models for the Shank3 zebrafish. I am already beginning to see some patterns emerge between the Shank3 and Wild-Type zebrafish.

This upcoming week, I will be further investigating these motor pattern differences as well as writing the methods and results section of the research paper.
