Week 7 Shenanigans

Apr 26, 2021

Hey y’all

I’ll be brief. This week we’ve made some improvements to our designs. To maintain high conductivity, we added some more silver. We intend to test our designs’ ability to not-degrade over time. Essentially how many times can you keep using it without it’s properties changing too much. We have a machine that does this for us, and it will run current through the circuitry around a million times, maybe more, I forget the exact number. But it will actually force the circuit to degrade, and then determine for us how much it did. We haven’t done that yet, but we were preparing to do so.

We also are looking to use a new material, to passivate the circuitry. The stuff we used before wasn’t working, so we’re looking to use a more elastic substance that won’t fold/roll over while we heat it in the oven.

As for animal testing, not sure if we’re gonna be able to that anytime soon. I’ll give an update once I hear more.

Sounds hi-tech. And, for the record, is “passivate” a verb? 🙂

Yep! Put simply, it means to isolate.
