Week 10: The End of My Journey

May 16, 2021

Hey everyone!

Alas, we have made it to the end of this journey. My senior project certainly wasn’t what I expected it to be, but nevertheless, I’ve learned an incredible amount from my experiences. Although I was not able to go into labs and conduct research, the past 10 weeks of independent study and virtual lab meetings have given me invaluable insight into the research process, as well as a glimpse into the world of academia. While literature reviews still haunt me, it is an aspect of the research process I have come to appreciate. I would like to take this time to thank Dr. Wu for teaching me everything I know about my noggin, my lab group (shout out to Raghav and Anushka) for enabling me to think critically and keeping me afloat, and Mr. Calhoun for constantly supporting me throughout my journey.

Over the past week, I have been working on my final presentation and review paper. I’m super excited to show you all what I’ve learned. Thank you all so much for following along with my Senior Project!

Hi Jeffrey! Reading all of your blog posts has really taken me back to the days of AP Psych and Biology. It sounds like our project experiences were pretty similar, with both of us having to write literature reviews. Still, I agree with you that literature reviews can be very valuable to a field, especially when they can help identify gaps in the currently available research.
